Congratulations to our 3 athletes at Sunday's Ironman Canada in Penticton BC. The heavy rain and wind may have slowed them down but didn't stop:

  • Jason Pretty 12:24:13 (1:07:45/6:08:43/4:55:29)
  • Rob Coleman 12:31:12 (56:09/6:19:10/5:00:56)

Open Water Swim Part 2 Wednesday

The 2nd meet of the Open Water Swim Series will get underway Wednesday 6pm at Octagon Pond in Paradise.

Judging by last week’s performances, we are in for another tight race in the 1500m category. 2nd and 3rd place were only seconds behind winner Gavin Dyke. And in the 750m, Jonathon Slaney will have to watch his back with the competition closing in.

With only 5 spots left, it is not too late to SIGN UP and mix up the fields or just simply come out and watch a great race. Have a look at THESE PICTURES from last week courtesy of Paul and Rosemary Lahey.

Record 214 Participate In St.John's Tri

Yesterday's St.John's Triathlon saw a record number of 214 participants swim, bike and run in ideal conditions with sunshine, no humidity, and temperatures in the mid to high 20's. A breezy wind cooled everyone down a little but also resulted in some slower than usual bike splits.

Congratulations to overall standard distance winners Stephen Dyke (2:08:03) and Caroline McIlroy (2:25:22) and to our trooper Jennifer Mersereau who finished her first ever standard distance triathlon in 5 hours 32 minutes.

The sprint distance titles were taken by Jordan Baird (1:07:07) and Alexandra Lys (1:20:38).

For the team events Mark Dillon & Alison Walsh captured first place standard distance in 2:28:52 while first place sprint distance went to Carl, Fiona & Bruce Sheppard in 1:17:25.

All results are available HERE and pictures will soon follow.
