The 2019 Humber Valley Triathlon took place Sunday, August 4th in the town of Pasadena. The event began with the Kids of Steel races open to youth ages 5-15. Unfortunately, inclement weather developed before the main event and the swim was cancelled. As a result the Sprint Triathlon and Try-a-Tri races were changed to duathlons with another run replacing the swim.
Carl Barrett won the Sprint (Triathlon) in a time of 1:06:01.9, Will Duggan finished closely behind in 1:06:25.2. The top female finisher and 3rd place overall was Stephanie Nevin in 1:08:50.5.
Aubrey Saunders was third place male in 1:09:06.4. The second and third place female finishers were Katheryn Cochrane and Melissa Hardy in times of 1:10:49.5 and 1:11:20.2, respectively.
The Sprint Duathlon went ahead as scheduled. Roderick Macneil finished first in 1:17:20.8 and Naomi Bose second in 1:23:15.1.
The Try-a-Tri was new to this year’s event. Jillian Andrews finished first and Caelin-Randell Scott came second.
