The 2019 Paradise Kids Duathlon is taking place on Saturday, August 24th with the sprint triathlon and try-a-tri taking place on Sunday, August 25th. The kids duathlon is open to youth ages 4 to 15, this is a non-competitive event designed to introduce children to our sport! There are age appropriate distances for the run and bike, with children divided into two-year age groups. For more information click here.
The sprint triathlon is open to individuals and relay teams of 2 or 3 members. This race includes a 750m swim in Octagon Pond, a 19.8k bike ride through the town of Paradise and a 5k run on the well-groomed trail around the pond! You must me 12 years old to compete in one discipline of the team relay and 16 years old to compete individually.
The try-a-tri is intended for new triathletes and youth ages 12 and older. The race includes a 300m swim, 7k bike ride and 3k run. This is a great event for youth that are interested in training for the 2020 NL Summer Games and 2021 Canada Games.
