For the first time Triathlon will be part of the NL Summer Games taking place this August 2020 in Bay Roberts!
Junior Boys and Girls will compete in the Individual Sprint and Mixed Relay competitions representing the regions of the Province. The Sprint will take place in a new course in Clarke’s Beach and the Relay will take place at Goose Pond Eco-Park in Bay Roberts. Each regional team will consist of 3 boys and 3 girls (ages 15-18 as of December 21, 2020), a coach, and a manager.
Triathlon NL needs volunteers to serve as regional representatives, coaches, and managers for each of the eight regions – St. John’s North, Mount Pearl South, Avalon, Host, Eastern, Central, Western, Labrador.
- Regional representatives are responsible for making sure a team comes together for their region, with a coach and manager.
- Coaches will be responsible for training programs for the athletes. Appropriate courses and training plan support will be provided to coaches as part of this effort.
- Managers will assist the coach in executing the training plan and team operations.
Triathletes in each region are ideal candidates for these roles, or the parents/relatives of athletes involved. Please consider putting something back into the development of the sport and offer yourself for one of these roles.
