Capital Subaru to sponsor St. John’s Triathlon and St. John’s Kids of Steel
The event organizing committee is excited to announce Capital Subaru as a new major sponsor for the St. John’s Triathlon and Kids of Steel (KOS). “Subaru Canada and locally, Capital Subaru, has long been a supporter of triathletes and we couldn’t be prouder to re-launch our events in 2018 with their generous backing. This additional funding and support will help improve the overall professionalism and delivery of the events and give the 700+ participants, spectators and volunteers an experience they will always remember. We want the Capital Subaru St. John’s Triathlon to become a destination race that’s on everyone’s bucket list,” said Jason Pretty, Committee Chair of the Capital Subaru St. John’s Triathlon.
“This sponsorship is a testament to our support and commitment to the triathlon community in Newfoundland and Labrador, and our involvement with these events emphasizes our goal of being a major player in outdoor sport. Capital Subaru encourages everyone to get out and experience our province firsthand. After all, that’s a big part of why our all-road, all-weather symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system is in every vehicle sold, helping you get where you want to go.” said Matt Kelland, Group Marketing Director of Capital Auto Group.
The Capital Subaru St. John’s Triathlon is set for August 5th, 2018 at Rotary Sunshine Park. The 34th running of the event includes a 1.5km (2x750m loop) swim in Healey’s Pond, 46km (2x23km loop) bike around Windsor Lake and finishes off with a 10km (2x5km loop) run through the beautiful park trails and along Bennett’s Road.
A sprint distance race (half of the standard distance) and relay team events (standard distance), consisting of 2 or 3 team members, are also available.
For kids aged 5 to 15 years, the Capital Subaru Kids of Steel event will take place at Bowring Park on Wednesday, August 1st (Regatta Day). KOS is an opportunity for children to experience the sport of triathlon (swim, bike, run) in a positive and fun environment.
Registration for both events is now open at www.stjtri.com and www.stjkidsofsteel.com.
