July 22 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Healey’s Pond Beach, Rotary Sunshine Park, Bennett’s Road
Time: 6:30 PM
Date: Wednesday, July 22

Triathlon NL is hosting Open Water Swim practices at Healey’s Pond this summer. Practice sessions will have safety support from water craft and lifeguards.
Practice Sessions are intended for competent swimmers only, who are looking for an introduction to swimming in open water, or to develop their open water swimming skills and technique.
These are not “learn-to-swim” sessions, but it is okay to be new to swimming in general, so long as you are able to move competently through the water on your own, and comfortable in water over your head.
Sessions are free to Triathlon NL members, or you can purchase a day membership as part of registration.
Participants should be suited up and ready to start by 6:30 PM. There are no change rooms available, although there are toilet stalls which could be used for such a purpose.
It is highly recommended that you DO NOT bring valuables to the event or down to the beach. Triathlon NL is not responsible for the loss or theft of any of your belongings.
TriNL is accepting applications for event sanctioning for the current season.
Event organizers are invited to download our Race Director Handbook to learn about how to hold a multi-sport event, and the requirements associated with sanctioning.
Sanctioning applications are filled out and submitted online. You will also need to submit additional documentation including an Event Emergency Plan; permit applications from applicable municipal, provincial, and federal authorities; and maps of courses and related facilities.
This process offers an excellent checklist to ensure your event is safe and secure for all participants, volunteers, and other stakeholders and that the event is conducted fairly for all competitors.
Your sanctioned event will also benefit from the knowledge and experience of TriNL board members and associates, as well as promotional opportunities through our website, news feed, and member email list. TriNL will assign a Technical Delegate (a certified triathlon official) to review the sanctioning document and work with your event team to make the event successful for everyone.
