The outdoor competition schedule for Triathlon NL has been finalized!
The big news for 2025 is the return of a triathlon in Paradise, and that all three main events this summer will be World Qualifying events! Paradise is returning in the form of a Cross Triathlon which will include off-road biking and running as part of the competition in Sprint and Duathlon categories. Age group winners will qualify for the Sprint Cross Triathlon and Sprint Cross Duathlon events at the Triathlon Multi-Sport World Championships in Abu Dhabi in 2026.
Clarke’s Beach is once again a Sprint Triathlon qualifier, with St. John’s Tri serving as a qualifier for the Standard distance and Aquabike (also in Abu Dhabi). The Sprint and Standard World Championships will be in Pontevedra, Spain in 2026.
The 2025 schedule is a departure from the usual as events have been moved around to accommodate the Canada Summer Games in mid August. The new schedule:
- July 6 – Clarke’s Beach Sprint Triathlon is our kick-off event for the summer outdoor season (WQ)
- July 13 – The new Paradise Cross Triathlon (WQ)
- July 27 – St. John’s Triathlon (WQ)
- July 30 – St. John’s Kids Of Steel is once again on Regatta Day, which also was moved for the Games
- August 3 – Mad Moto will be a fun way to close out the season!
The Open Water Swim Series is also back again on Wednesday nights from July 9 to August 13 with the Beginner’s Series on Thursdays from July 10 to August 14.
