New & Returning Events for Youth & Junior Age Triathletes
Two new events have been added to the TriNL calendar this summer aimed directly at providing more competitive opportunities for Youth and Junior age triathletes. Athletes in the Youth category, and first-year of Junior, are eligible to compete in the next Canada Summer Games and anyone with such an interest is encouraged to register for these events.
New Events
- Carbonear – July 15 – Carbonear Try-a-Tri takes place at the same time and place as the regular Carbonear Sprint Triathlon, but on a shorter version of the course which makes it eligible for youth and junior competitors (300 m, 6 km, 3 km).
- Paradise – August 26 – The Body Quest Super-Sprint takes place in coordination with the regular Body Quest Sprint Triathlon. This is a Canada Games identification event aimed at finding youth and junior athletes who are interested in preparing for the next Canada Summer Games in 2021. The super-sprint course is 300m swim, 6.8 km bike, and 3 km run.
